Artist Statement
"In October 2011 an overnight snowstorm coincided with the height of color for the Sangre de Cristo mountain range aspen trees.. As the storm cleared that morning I took off in my Aviat Husky airplane hoping to see snow and color. I found it on the southwest slope of Mt. Blanca near the Colorado town of LaVeta. It was so calm and quiet that morning I let the airplane drift low and I was able to capture this image."
