Artist Statement
"This is a 30 second exposure of an old abandoned military building on a desolate road at Fort Ord that has since been demolished. I lit up the interior with a red gelatin filter wrapped around a lantern to create this surreal effect. I took several frames of this scene, but it was only this one that was lit up on the right side by the passing headlights of a vehicle that just happened by while the shutter was opened. For me, this separately lit building at an old abandoned military base late at night embodies a sense of loneliness and isolation."
