Artist Statement
The beach at night is a trip into a different world. Here light is precious and shadows predominate, forming the basis for abstractions and private thoughts. Not unexpectedly, the photography deals with what we see, but the experience is appropriate for the mind. The beaches, which are swept of human traces by the tides, give the land a pre-historic quality. In many ways these images are less about reality and more about where we want to go.
