Millennium Park is a photographer's paradise in the heart of downtown Chicago. I came in early one Monday morning hoping to get some shots without the ubiquitous crowds in the frames. My plan worked, and except for the guards I had the entire park to myself for about an hour.
What I hadn't anticipated is that staff turns off the fountains at night and don't refill them until the following morning. By the time I got to the Crown Fountain, much of the water in its half-inch deep wading pool had evaporated, leaving broken reflections of the city in the remaining puddles.
Image captured April 17th, 2006 with a Nikon D200 body and an 18-70 Nikkor lens. Since the summer of 2008, I have been shooting with a D700 and Nikon's new N series lenses.
