Artist Statement
This photo was taken inside a church in Tecopa, CA, a small desert town southeast of Death Valley.
It was late morning and the church was open but no one was inside. As I looked through the venetian blinds covering one of the windows I saw this striking pattern of contrasting colors and lines transmitted through the painted glass window. It left a strong impression with me, which I hope is conveyed to viewers by this image.
The print was made with archival pigmented ink on Ilford GALERIE Gold Fiber Silk paper.
