Artist Statement
In the Mist goes back to a cold winter day in Vevey, a small town located at the lake Geneva, Switzerland. I was wandering along the seashore in the fog, feeling all alone and powerful - until I saw a similar spirit being lost in the mist as well. The scenery around lake Geneva is usually incredible, the French Alps all the way to the Mont Blanc rise high on the south shore, but that day it was even hard to imagine that there was another end to these waters. The birds seem like little black islands, countless and domineering in the silvery water.
The picture was taken with a Nikon D70s during the late morning as the mist was just starting to loosen up again.
