Artist Statement
Although none of these elements, individually, would ever exist together - an Australian butterfly, lily pads and crickets living in a Khmer Thai temple pool, a Russian dancer, and a dramatically lit cenote found under a limestone shelf in the Yucatan - somehow, collectively, they form a certain beauty, a scene that is both harmonious and intriguing. Often it is the little inconsistencies that cause us pause in our everyday life. And, too, our appreciation of beauty. Differing characteristics add depth and complexity, causing us to linger, ponder, and wonder what attracts us or haunts us...
