Artist Statement
My picture, Lines of Winter, was taken during the winter of 2008. I was originally out in the field to capture photographs of bald eagles feeding in a small opening in the ice when I caught myself studying the contrast lines of these trees and ice on the edge of the lake. After a few moments, I forgot all about the eagles and started capturing the unique forms and contrast. Sometimes when unique opportunities present themselves, you have to lay your plans aside and follow the opportunity.
