Artist Statement
After a 5 year project of totally tearing apart a 40 foot sail boat and completely rebuilding it for a solo around the world sail, my brother Skip was showing the boat off in South Haven, Michigan. I was sitting on the back of the boat mesmerized by the water tension and reflections of a boat crane on the surface of the water. I took many exposures almost all of them winners. I chose this one because of its abstract quality and movement. I love photographing water and the ever changing reflections and moods it produces.
