Artist Statement
This photograph combines two of my favorite things -- exploring old buildings, and music. The opportunity was somewhat serendipitous. I saw the abandoned building from the road and was intrigued by the rotting wood and vines growing around the windows. As I photographed a window, a beam of light came through the window and illuminated this piano, which I hadn't yet noticed.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D200 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at ISO 100, and is a blending of 3 exposures. I increased the contrast and saturation in Photoshop.
