Artist Statement
C.D.M. So. Wall #1 was taken in the spring of 2003 at the Children's Discovery Museum (C.D.M.) in
San Jose, CA. It was my first attempt at digital photography. The engaging architecture and color of the
building was a primary motivating factor. I was able to explore and exploit what it had to offer: strong
geometric hard-edge shapes and repetitive patterns, color, dramatic perspective, light/shadow areas
and other two-dimensional design elements. It was composed in camera. Minor adjustments were made
in Photoshop Elements 2.0. My first digital camera, was a Canon Power-shot 3.2mg.pxl. was used. |
