Artist Statement
We all have skin. It not only protects us, it bears the scars from the
bumps in our lives and eventually shows our age. The hoop pine
(Araucaria cunninghamii) is a remarkable conifer. The bark beautifully
splits horizontally at regular intervals into rings or hoops, telling
us a story of its life and growth in the Jimna State Forest in
Queensland, Australia. |
