Artist Statement
I enjoy capturing images that people walk by everyday without notice. When I saw the leaf sitting on a grate in a parking lot I knew I wanted to create an image showing the wonderful colors and textures.
For the shot I chose to saturate the reds and limit the depth of field. To do this I underexposed the slide film, a challenge given the rather bright day. Fall Grate was taken using a Contax 645 with an 210mm lens @ f4 and 1/2000 sec on Fujichrome Provia 100F. |
