Mavericks: Everest of the Seas

The many moods of Mavericks -- the world-famous big wave break just off Half Moon Bay -- will be the subject of a unique art exhibit featuring the finest work of a group of local professional photographers who have devoted their lives to capturing the decisive moments of action at the legendary surf spot.  Ed Grant, Coastal Arts League member and Mavericks photographer, has assembled the most spectacular images from the cutting-edge photojournalists who risk life and limb to document the wave's intense man-against-the-sea drama and obsessive lifestyle of Maverick's elite riders. Both the shooters and the surfers who challenge the break on its most extreme days will make a rare one-time public appearance. This collection of brilliant images is sure to give you the visual ride of your life and views from the top of the watery world!  The event is open to the public and admission is free.  A portion of the proceeds from sales of photographs and books will help support the Half Moon Bay High School Surf Club.
